Hind Fabrics was established by Talha with a clear vision: to create a luxury brand celebrating India's rich legacy of fine craftsmanship. Building on his family's 40-year heritage in traditional Emirati kandura and abaya making, Talha launched Hind Fabrics to showcase authentic, high-quality Indian textiles—with plans to eventually expand into other Indian treasures like agarwood, handcrafted jewelry, and heritage apparel.
"My aim was to build a brand that represents the true richness and cultural artistry of India," explains Talha. "Not just fabric, but the finest silks and handwoven creations that speak to royalty, tradition, and elegance."
The inspiration came while managing his father's store, where Emirati customers would often bring in Indian fabrics that were mostly low-grade or synthetic imitations. "That's when I realized there was a need for a truly curated, premium offering of genuine Indian textiles—not just in quality, but in soul," he recalls.
The name "Hind" was chosen as a cultural bridge—resonating with both Indian heritage and Emirati sensibilities, carrying a legacy of prestige and authenticity perfect for a brand bringing the best of India to the Gulf.

To test market appetite, Talha launched a modest Instagram page advertising 12 hand-picked fabrics he sourced using his personal savings. Four years later, Hind Fabrics has grown into a thriving business with a flagship store, a loyal online following, and a second retail location on the way.
CHALLENGE

Finding a unified payment solution for multiple sales channels

Talha credits Hind Fabrics' growth to a diversified strategy with multiple sales channels—including Instagram, exhibitions, home visits, and their retail storefront. However, this multi-channel approach created a significant payment challenge.
He needed payment links for Instagram and WhatsApp orders, QR codes for exhibitions, and a reliable in-person payment solution for the store and home appointments. With a growing team, it was also essential to give each team member access to accept payments independently.
I was determined to find a UAE-based payment provider that offered payment links, QR codes, and Tap to Pay. I also wanted to make sure the provider was regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE so my transactions and business were always protected against disputes and any unforeseen issues.

"I really liked the interface from day one. It's amazing how everything works—the color, the brand appeal, everything," says Talha.
Over time, he integrated Ziina across all payment touchpoints: payment links for online sales, QR stands at events, and Tap to Pay on multiple devices for in-person transactions. The platform's flexibility allowed Hind Fabrics to maintain a consistent payment experience regardless of where the sale happened.
The retail store, now Hind Fabrics' largest and busiest sales channel, especially benefited from Ziina. With high footfall during weekends and evenings, Talha was particularly glad that he did not have to rely on one bulky POS terminal for his entire team.
During peak hours, it was a struggle—misplacing the POS terminal, reloading paper rolls, dealing with low battery, and tracking dozens of paper receipts. Customers were often delayed, and we hated seeing them frustrated by the wait.

Delighted customers, streamlined operations, future growth

Talha has successfully streamlined operations and payments at Hind Fabrics, allowing him to focus on growth and future expansion. He sees Ziina not just as a payment solution, but as a long-term partner. Later this year, he plans to launch a new vertical and open a second store featuring ready-made garments.
Tap to Pay has transformed the in-store experience, particularly at the end of transactions. Fabric sales often involve price negotiations right up to the point of invoicing and payment, which can make the sales process stressful. With Tap to Pay, the experience ends on a high note, with customers often surprised and delighted when they tap their card to a phone.
Every time a customer taps to pay, it is a moment of delight. My team and I often use their amusement as an opportunity to mimic the meme: 'Technologia!'. This makes our customers laugh. For me, it is priceless to end the sale with a smile and shared laugh.
